Description
CP-2604 Buick V6 Engine Mounting Kit for 1933-1934 Ford
Please read the full instructions before starting!
1. Start with boxing the frame. When boxing frame, keep frame level front and rear. If the frame is not level, it will have a twist to it, and other components will not fit properly. Use a carpenters type level to check the top surface of the frame when the frame is right side up or upside down. Clamp angle-iron across the top of the frame rails, then tack-weld to ensure frame and installation will be square. Recheck often. Reinforcing plate goes on outside of frame, then fill gap with weld. Remember to spot first, and recheck for squareness of the frame.
2. Frame adapter will need fitting to the boxing plates. It has proven impossible to account for all variables involved with the installation. Fit frame adapters as required with these specifications:
Dimension A will depend on individual car, type of firewall used, particular year of engine, water pump length and transmission used. It is up to the installer to find a proper working measurement.
Don’t forget to check clearance with the steering gear box.
3. Make sure mounts are straight and level. Tack in place and double-check all measurements. Then perform the final weld. All steering and exhaust should be checked at this time as well.
4. Bolt engine mounts to block and install engine.
The transmission spacer plate is needed for use with the ES-2130 Transmission Mounting Kit
